Dear Phil,
Mike and I want to thank you for your wonderful job in painting our trim and replacing our door. We so appreciate the time and care you took, always taking into consideration our wants and "constraints". You kept us well informed! The approach to the house is now so fine!

This letter is to introduce you to Philip Hammond, 4th generation painter and principal of The Master Painting Co.
We engaged Phil to paint our 1811 colonial home at the above address in late September, 1990 after having received two other bids for our much neglected and difficult painting assignment. His bid was about identical with the others but we chose Phil because he was a local fellow and we felt comfortable with his personality, interest in our project, and professionalism in assessing the needs of the job and his willingness to discuss our concerns and make timely suggestions.
The project required special attention to preparation of all surfaces, bonding agents and other details including the repointing of three massive chimneys prior to refinishing. When Phil felt he needed more technical information, he researched and studied it.
He was on the job daily supervising his crew. His routine was carefully orchestrated and carried out with the minimum of inconvenience to my wife and to me who were home during the progress of the work.
It is now February, 1991, five months after completion, and I can't emphasize enough how pleased we are with the results and having through chance found Phil Hammond. We have received glowing compliments from neighbors, friends and even my very particular brother.
Phil is justly proud of being the fourth generation of painters in his family and there is no doubt in my mind that he is a master of his trade. He is concerned about every detail and conducted every phase of the project in a neat and professional way. Nothing was left undone.
I recommend him highly.

Dear Phil:
I just wanted to drop you a line to express how pleased my wife and I are with the work you have done at our current and prior homes. The quality of your work is excellent.
The rooms you painted in our new home are all beautiful. The interior work came out so well it is impossible to see that you had to paint over a very dark color with a much lighter one.
At our old home, we appreciate the fact that you took the time and care to make repairs to the surfaces prior to painting them. It truly made for perfect results.
You are a craftsman in the traditional sense and that is something than can not be said about many people these days.
Once again, thank you for your wonderful work. We will certainly call you anytime we need work done at our home.
Also, please feel free to use us as a reference for any prospective customer.
Thank you.

When we hired Phil Hammond to paint the trim on our 40 year old house, we showed him some damaged wood that needed to be replaced. We thought that we would have to hire a carpenter. Phil told us that he could make the repairs.
Not only did Phil make those repairs, but he discovered that there were quite a lot of additional rotten trim pieces that needed to be replaced. Some of them involved making intricate cuts, but Phil had the knowledge and skill to make all of them, including window sills and decorative trim.
We also had a lot of green mold on our natural shingles, trim and gutters. He powerwashed them, so they looked new. We couldn't believe how good they looked when he was done.
Phil was always polite and respectful. He arrived on time every morning, always let us know that he had arrived and when he was done for the day.
He kept us informed of his progress, as he worked, and was always happy to explain things to our satisfaction, including what needed to be done, what materials he would use and why. He used the best quality materials, he said, because he wanted to make sure that his work would last for many years.
Whenever he encountered a problem area, he would let us know and ask for our ok before resolving it.
For several weeks, Phil worked very hard every day with minimal breaks. He had a strong work ethic and was reliable and professional. We were very impressed with the depth of his knowledge of his crafts. He worked carefully, even when he was powerwashing, so as not to damage the wood. He was an excellent carpenter and an expert painter. All in all, we felt very comfortable having him work here.
It's obvious that Phil takes great pride in his work. We are very happy with the results and recommend him highly.
